Precision Tube
Precision Tube Company was founded in 1932 by Norman H. Jack and Albert H. Mainwaring in Philadelphia, PA as Precision Seamless Tube Co. They obtained patent for Metal Shielded Wire, and early coaxial cable product, in 1936. In 1940, after a split in partnership, Norman H. Jack renamed the organization Precision Tube Company. The company still specialized in small diameter tubing, fabricated parts and coaxial cable. In 1952, a new tube mill was constructed in North Wales, PA. Two divisions were formed in 1965: Tube Mill and Special Products Divisions. The product line grew to include larger diameters. In 1996, Precision Tube Company was acquired by Mueller Industries, Inc. In the beginning of the new millennium, Mueller divested the coaxial cable division. Today, Precision plays a major role in markets such as Aviation, Automotive, HVAC, Industrial Heat Exchange, Baseboard heating, Electrical Connectors, and a plethora of other industries as well.
